WELCOME to my website. It is a pleasure to have you.
Trying to get paid for your art in a city like New York is seemingly impossible. Most of us work seven jobs and barely pay our bills, eating old Chinese and drinking dollar coffee from the bodega on the corner. This is the life we choose for ourselves because most of us would rather make great things than live an ample life. I am okay with this. The problem lies in the fact that I need to put all the ideas I have into motion. Funny enough, just having an idea for a play or wanting to produce a one-woman show is actually not enough to get it done. I know, these revelations are truly shocking.
I am currently working on two shows with The Educational Theatre of New York, at the Clarion Theatre on the Lower East Side. Getting back into a black box theatre and enjoying the minds of the other actors has been thrilling. It is always inspiring to be surrounded by artists who live and die by their work.
In addition, I am putting together a stand up set that I will be performing at various open-mics throughout the city. The vulnerability that comes with performing your own work is incredibly intense and I think it will surely be the most rewarding. My cat thinks I’m hysterical, but her humor is a tad elitist at times.
I will keep this blog updated with stories and updates of my incredibly riveting life and maybe some pictures of cats and sloths.
